Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan

These were the three places that our cruise ship stopped in Alaska. My favorite of the three was Juneau, it was the largest and very pretty and I loved our excursion there. Our bus driver on the tour was very entertaining and we also found out that he was LDS. I really liked him. We went out on a boat to go whale watching. This excursion was pretty expensive and we probably should not have done it, but I really enjoyed the boat ride and the scenery that we got to see along the way. We did get to see whales, but they were a little far away, and we were actually pretty lucky to see them on our cruise ship, once while we were at dinner. We got to see eagles and seals and dolphins also. The kids were pretty good (Blayke slept most of the time, which allowed us to relax and enjoy looking for whales.) and they loved looking for the animals.

When we arrived in Ketchikan it was a beautiful sunny day. We didn't really need our coats, but we kept them on anyway. We really got to see many bald eagles here and that was kind of neat. We were hopeing to see some bears, but no such luck. We did however see quite a bit of salmon.

Our last stop on the cruise was at Victoria B.C. in Canada and it was very pretty there. We did not get to see much there because we arrived in port at 7:30 pm and had to be back on the ship by 11:30 pm. We decided to leave the three little ones on the ship at the "kids club" and go see Butchart Gardens.

They were a little far away from the port and the cab ride there was fairly expensive. Good thing that we split the cost with another couple that was going there too. The Gardens were also a little expensive to get into, but absolutely beautiful. We kind of did a whirlwind tour, but it was gorgeous. They really do a fabulous job there. What we saw of Victoria was very beautiful too.
